For a society to be mature, a community to be cultured and caring, and a nation to be truly progressive, service must come before self. When we are able to serve our fellow human beings, only then can we say we have truly arrived. All religions emphasize the importance of serving the community. Society must take precedence over the individual. For us, compassion takes center stage. At its core, service to society means caring for the less fortunate among us. This, in essence, is the goal we continually strive toward.
